Illuminares

This is the first film shot from my storyboards, and I'm really proud of it. I've done a lot of boards and I'm sure they've eventually gone on to production, but this is the first actual time that I have seen the results of my boards. I'll put up a board/film comparison soon.

WOW! Really... WOW! That gave me goose bumps. (Of course, it helps that it’s about my alma mater.) I know I always say this, but you are very talented! (Do you ever get tired of hearing that?!?)

Come on Mindy, we all know how vain I am! Of course I don't mind hearing that! :) Honestly, though, I really like this film too. I think it was beautifully shot, the lighting is incredible and the score fits the feeling so perfectly. I loved working on this piece. Plus it is so gratifying to see my work make it's affect on a real production.

Oh, Glenn! I had tears in my eyes through the whole piece! What a beautiful thought and, you're right, beautifully filmed. Thank you for sharing! You are something else! I don't know where you find time (or creativity) to do all this! I am in awe, truly.

Thanks Mom, it really is cool, huh? I can't take the credit for it. The guy I was working with, Scott Wilhite is the creative force behind this one. I really enjoyed working with him, things just clicked, you know? It was great. He is interested in sending this all over the internet so send send it off around all you want! You can find a better link on Google video, keyword - Illuminares.

Boss Baby (2017) The Fight in the Airport

Boss Baby and Tim have escaped from the Killer Manny.  They have made it all the way to the airport by bike and Tim has just saved Boss Baby from the dangerous travelling crowd.  They've ALMOST caught up to Tim's parents!  But then THIS happens:

Creating the Anhedonia Logo

This is the animated logo at the end of the new television show, Mr. Sunshine. Think "Sit, Ubu. Sit." or "Bad Robot!!" You can see it better quality at http://vimeo.com/20228001 A few months ago I got a call from my friend Matt Davis asking if I would maybe, possibly be somewhat interested in considering working on a logo like that for Matthew Perry. I jumped at the chance. The company is called Anhedonia Productions, and you're probably wondering what in the world "Anhedonia" means. It's the inability to experience pleasurable emotions from normally pleasurable life events. A pretty crappy situation, but comedy goldmine. I worked with Andy Erekson and Marcelo Vignali (and his daughter) to come up with a list of 50 ideas of what this logo could be within the theme that Perry had already set up. I boarded out 7 of those ideas and created 3 animated beta tests. Here are some of my favorites... For exploration: Face on Jumbotron Rodeo Christmas tre

Boss Baby (2017) Tim teaches BB about imagination - Deleted Scene

You've seen Boss Baby, of course.  This is the Sequence when Boss Baby and Tim are on the airplane headed to Las Vegas and they take the time to practice a little imagination play.  The idea was to explore what Boss Baby's version of imagination would be.  Initially, he's going to think of everything in terms of business, right?  A pirate ship would be made out of sky scrapers, naturally.  Ultimately it was cut for time, but it was a fun sequence to work on.
