Folding Illustration

  Yeah, there's some resemblance to those old Mad Magazine gimmicks, but that's only because I was influenced by them as I was designing this illustration.  I think the idea stands on it's own.   I don't love the colors, but I love the concept.  In my perfect world, this would run in the February edition of the Friend or New Era magazines for my church.  February because it could serve as a reminder for all the hearts out there (lonely or not) about who we really should belong to.  We should give our hearts to our Lord and Savior.  We can show that love for Him in our service to others.  And I love how that is reflected in the words of the message.   I pitched this idea to the people at the Friend and they liked it, but it wasn't picked up because of it's dependence on English (or any language).  The publication is global and is translated into over 100 languages and half of the appeal is the written word.  That would have...

I trust you’re enjoying a wonderful, relaxing, and meaningful birthday with your loved ones around!  Allow me to be just one more admirer and show my gratitude for you being born 40 years ago.  Time goes fast, doesn’t it?  And it's moments like these that help me remember all that we've been through.  Can you believe it's already been 6 years since we met up in St George to go skiing? That was so much fun and felt so good to catch up again.
